About Us

Teaching Accessibility in the Digital Skill Set is a four-year research project (2019-2023) funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) as part of the Future Leaders Fellowships initiative.

The Team

The project is lead by Dr Sarah Lewthwaite (Principal Investigator) who is a Senior Research Fellow and Future Leaders Fellow at the Centre for Research in Inclusion, Southampton Education School at the University of Southampton.

Joining Sarah for the initial phases of the research are Dr Andy Coverdale (Centre for Research in Inclusion, Southampton) and Dr Abi James (Visiting Fellow, Web Accessibility Team, Electronics and Computer Science, Southampton). Both bring significant expertise in inclusion and digital accessibility.

In November 2019, Angharad Butler-Rees joined the project as Senior Research Associate.
